Winnie-the-Pooh, also known as Pooh Bear, first appears in classic children book Winnie-the-Pooh (1926), is a fictional anthropomorphic teddy bear created by English author A. A. Milne. The initial idea of Winnie-the-Pooh was adapted from the stuffed teddy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne. The original name of the stuffed teddy bear is Edward Bear, and was renamed later renamed to Winnie-the-Pooh by Christopher Robin.
Winnie the Pooh is characteristic by yellow fur bear with small pea like eyes, cute round in folding ears, round head, sweet smile and round belly, and wears a red shirt. The first time Pooh and his friends appeared in colour was 1932, where his shirt was red in color. Winnie the pooh loves honey, and usually seem beside a pot of “hunny”.
Pooh is famous by his naive, slow-witted,but yet friendly, thoughtful, and steadfast characteristic. At times Pooh come out with clever idea,which driven by common sense.
The rest of Christopher Robin Milne’s stuffed animals namely Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo and Tigger, were all also initially incorporated into Milne’s stories.
Piglet is Winnie‑the‑Pooh’s closest friend. Piglet is a small pig as the name suggested. He is portray as pink skin piglet with a magenta jumper. He is usually appears as having inferiority complex, often timid, nervous, and stutters, but however he has a lot of hidden courage and often conquers his fears in the faces danger to help others, even when afraid.
The character of “Winnie the pooh and friends” was later been licensed rights to Walt Disney in 1966 to continue development of the character in theatrical featurettes, television series, movies and films.
